Wimbledon  Wednesday 2015 The Hottest Day

it was 41degrees on court one, the factor 50 was dripping into my eyes as Milos Raonic hit the fastest serve of the tournament , the serve hit the backboards quicker than the bead of sweat took to travel from my forehead to my eye lid

The queues for the ice cream and the water taps were almost as long as the queues already forming in the park to get show  court tickets on Thursday morning

Everyone was wilting, my breathable Adidas Roland Garros cap was breathing, but I wasn’t  and even the Sharapova shriek seemed quitter than usual in the stifling heat.

My investment of an Adidas climachill T shirt may have been the purchase of a lifetime as my body turned to liquid the t shirt remained bone dry……amazing !

I couldn’t sit in the heat,  yet to my shame Marcos Baghdatis played in it for over four hours, but there again Cyprus does have a slightly hotter climate than Wales.

At a grand slam tournament in blistering heat ,decision making is vital ,and the vital hours of training prove their worth… Decisions have to made in a split second ….raspberry ripple or vanilla…. .? Americano or latte…. .?

My winter training held me in good stead and I came through

On the court ? well the athletes have my unreserved respect and admiration you truly are remarkable
